Jayesh Chauhan is Director in Mercados Energy Markets India Pvt Ltd (Mercados). He has over 25 years of total work experience, out of which 18+ years is in power sector. He joined Mercados in January 2020 and has been instrumental in growth of Mercados in Western Region including regional office set-up in Mumbai with team of 15+ members.
Jayesh has served in various leadership positions in different verticals of power sector over last 10 years and has worked with more than 25 States/UTs and has developed strong and long term client relationship with utility officials. Jayesh has handled over 100 assignments at Senior level position and his expertise ranges from policy and tariff/ regulatory matters, restructuring, strategic, financial planning, commercial aspects, of generation/ transmission/ distribution/ renewable aspects of power utilities, and more.
Jayesh is a M.B.A. (Finance) and graduated with First Class in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Jayesh has over 8 years of cumulative experience in retainer-ship with utilities such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Goa, and Puducherry. He has also been instrumental in reforms and restructuring projects for utilities such as J&K, West Bengal (Durgapur), Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
Jayesh has worked as a strategic advisor to a number of public and private companies formulating Entry Strategies for clients venturing into the Power Sector as well as preparing Strategic Business Plans enabling clients to flourish in the industry.
Jayesh has also exposure of working with SEZs in various segments involving licensing activities, regulatory support, corporate structuring, business plan, network rollout plan, load forecasting, and more.
